ola | A YEAR GONE BY
There's something about this time of year that evokes fond, nostalgic memories. Here in the studio, we have been reflecting on the year gone by and looking forward to the year ahead.
From hand polishing almost three thousand of our new Solid Brass Ornaments to hand printing and packing one thousand sets of pencils, this year has seen several new collections and special collaborations.
The beginning of the year saw the launch of our Conscious Collection and with it our first pledge to charity. In the spring we expanded our signature pattern collection with our Kaffe print, named after the wonderful Kaffe Fassett, known for his decorative knitting, needlework and patchwork. As the holidays approached, our Autumn / Winter collection saw the launch of many exciting new festive ranges, including our Solid Brass Ornament Cards and Swiss Velvet Ribbon Reels.
Focusing on the notion of the keepsake in place of the throwaway, this year we've enjoyed exploring and reimagining some of our favourite everyday objects.
This year we have had the pleasure of working with The Royal Opera House and South London Gallery, collaborating on two special exclusive projects. Celebrating the architectural details of the iconic Paul Hamlyn Hall, an integral and beloved part of the Royal Opera House and The South London Gallery's newly restored Fire Station building.
From bespoke pencils and patterned papers to foil blocked greetings cards and postcards, each design shines a light on the small, integral details that are often overlooked.
Today is our last day in the studio before we shut up shop for Christmas. We will then reopen after the festivities, from 7th January, ready to receive your New Year's orders.
However you're spending the holidays, we wish you a wonderful festive break! We'd like to take this opportunity to offer a heartfelt thanks to all of you for your support. We've had our most exciting year to date, and very much look forward to sharing our new collection with you soon ...
Love from all of the team at ola
